2021 NATIONAL BALLOONING CHAMPIONSHIPS - POSTPONED!

7th August 2021
By ABF President

In light of the Covid-19 outbreaks across the nation and subsequent lockdowns, border closures and travel restrictions into Western Australia, the event organisers have made the difficult decision to postpone and reschedule the 2021 National Ballooning Championships, Northam.   The Australian Ballooning Federation supports this decision.

Our overarching commitment is to the delivery of a world-class and inclusive Championships that all pilots around Australia can compete in.  Rescheduling the Championships will allow pilots and officials currently impacted by Covid-19 outbreaks to participate in the event.

We are very pleased with the work that has been put into organising the championships thus far and we congratulate them for this work.  We know the organisers are extremely disappointed they are not able to proceed at this time.

The intent is to reschedule the event to April / May 2022.  Over coming days, we will work with the event organisers and event partners to finalise a new date for the Championships.

We remain committed to a National Ballooning Championships in Northam and we will notify all with more information and specific dates in coming weeks.
