• For Individuals or Organisations with a common interest in ballooning or aviation but not requiring Ordinary or Certificate memebrship rights. 
• Approval by the ABF committee is required under the constitution. 

Ordinary Membership has the following benefits;

• 12 month membership

• Full voting rights

• Aeronotes Magazine - Electronic or hard copy

• Ability to stand for a position on the committee

• Access to Normal Membership level documents on the ABF website including minutes of meetings and reports

• Upgrade to a Certificate Membership

Note: Normal membership is appropriate for Observers and other non certificated members who want to have the maximum involvement in the ABF.

Certificate Membership has all the benefits of the Normal Membership with the following benefits;

• 12 month membership

• Aeronotes Magazine - Electronic or hard copy

• Required if you hold or are applying for any ABF flight certificate including Student Pilots Certificate or Private Pilots Certificate

• Access to Certificate membership level documents on the ABF website including training manuals and pilot circulars

• Access to Instructor and Examiner contact lists

• Suggested for pliots holding a CASA issued Commercial Pilots Licence (Balloons) for full access to member benefits and privileges

• Reduced fees for full time students under 25yrs old. Includes electronic Aeronotes delivery

Temporary Membership is designed to allow overseas pilots visiting Australia to pilot a balloon during the course of their stay.

• The Temporary Membership and Pilot Certificate are valid for a period of one month
• An extension may be granted on application and may be subject to additional fees
• Access to all required technical documents as per the certificate membership

Note: Temporary Members will not be able to vote or hold a position on the committee.
