Due to the development of a new operating location, Sky Waltz is now accepting CV’s for a Commercial Pilot position for its operations in India. Starting ASAP until the 25th April 2012, with the possibility of long term seasonal contracts with the company.

Flying balloons up to a 210, morning and evening flights and the opportunity to fly in a number of stunning locations throughout Rajasthan and India. Minimum experience of 250 commercial flying hours - in 210 or bigger sized balloons. Impeccable safety record, POSITIVE “can-do” attitude, outstanding technical flying skills and entertaining personality are minimum requirements. This is a new company which is at a pivotal point in its commercial development, so Pilots that are ready & willing to assist on all fronts are essential. POSITIONS WANTED

For the past five years I have been flying balloons over Capadoccia in Turkey, and have obviously enjoyed the flying and lifestyle. However, it is not home and therefore, this will be our last season here. I have been employed by two companies, Goreme Balloons for 3 years and for the past 2 years, Royal Balloons, who are very sad that we are not returning next year.  Royal Balloons comments on Trip Advisor will provide an indication of my ability to fly and entertain my passengers. My current contract expires in January 2012.

Lorraine and I want to resettle in Australia so I am looking for a pilot position for 2012 and beyond. I ask that you keep this email on file, and if any positions should open, that I might be considered.

I am originally from Melbourne, so relocation from our home on the Gold Coast, would not be a problem.

Porosity Tester for Hire

Thinking of buying a 2^nd hand balloon? You might want to hire this before you part with your cash!

Aerostar require that an assessment be made of the porosity of a balloon during the 100 hourly inspection and provide a tool for the purpose, the PX-1 porosity tester. This is a portable porosity tester which gives a much better indication of the state of the fabric than a simple blow test.

No other balloon manufacturer worldwide has devised a simple to use, calibrated test unit. You simply plug it in to the 240V power and hold it up to the fabric, the gauge reads the fabric porosity.

Aerostar demands that the average fabric porosity is less than 50 cubic feet per minute per square foot of fabric. Whilst no other manufacturer has defined a fail criteria for porosity this is probably a good starting point especially if you are purchasing a used balloon.

My PX-1 is available for hire for $30 per week plus postage.
