SNOWY MOUNTAINS, JINDABYNE - NEW SOUTH WALES |
|
| Jindabyne is a winter ski resort on the eastern slopes of the Australian Alps
(The Snowy Mountains)
Lake Jindabyne, a huge reservoir dams the Snowy River and diverting its water through huge tunnels to inland irrigation and hydro-electric power dams of the Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme on the western side of the mountains. The Australian Alps may not be so high as their European namesakes but they are a major challenge for the hot air balloonist. |
